Wellness and AI

I never thought I would turn to AI for wellness as I have always relied on journaling, meditation, and connecting inter-personally with others or simply through music or pre-recorded meditations. But as life has become busier, in a very positive way, I have leaned into the intricacies of AI as a wellness outlet.

One evening, completely pooped from a long day, I tried a meditation app powered by AI versus my usual apps of pre-recorded sessions by actual people. This AI app suggested a quick breathing exercise based on how I felt, so I gave it a try, and by the end of those three minutes, I felt a little more centered. I recognize this was not life-changing, but it was a small win, and some days, that is enough.

Since then, I have embraced AI tools in ways I did not expect. I use an AI app to help curate meditations based on my wellness goals, stress levels, sleep habits, and overall health objectives. The app then processes the info to create a meditation plan and journaling prompts tailored to how I am feeling.

For me, AI does not replace my physical wellness activities, like hopping into a hot yoga studio or chatting with my therapist on my self-development plan. Rather, AI has become a helpful addition to my self-growth journey. Just today I was speaking with my spiritual advisor about the importance of in-person dialogue, particularly if you are seeking guidance or wisdom that is very specific. We discussed the importance of a patient knowing how to strike the balance of obtaining organic human guidance and automated output particularly in sensitive times.

Overall, I do find it exhilarating how AI can be an additional support, but I will lament, AI should not be used as a replacement to human doctors. Implementing AI into your health regime should be done carefully and thoughtfully. For me, AI has been great at simplifying my meditations and at-home yoga plans, while also helping me curate family circle sessions. From my perspective, technology has been a remarkable asset in aiding my wellness in a realistic and reliable manner, while still utilizing my therapist and wellness advisors. So, next time you need a bit of extra motivation, seek out an AI wellness app and explore what works best for you, even if it is a simple 2-minute meditation.
