May is mental health awareness month. And there’s no time like now to help and support those who need you. Truth is, people may not ask for help bc of shame or embarrassment. It’s up to us to check-in on our friends and family, especially the one’s that seem “great” or “have it all together” kinda folks. No one is perfectly great right now. We are in a trying time, to say the least. From the passings of Avicii, Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain and countless others that we know and don’t know, be sure to reach out and really listen to your friends and family when they speak or don’t speak. Silence says as much as words. This is why mental health awareness matters! This is why being in contact (phone, Zoom, FaceTime, texts) shouldn’t be taken for granted, and why wellness and mindfulness shouldn’t be treated as a joke, a trend or a luxury. Life is precious.

Join me this month in raising awareness of mental health through educating the public, fighting stigma and advocating for policies and resources that support people with mental illness, and their families and caregivers as well 🙏
