Fall Foliage New Hampshire

Autumn is Here

Autumn has always felt less like a fresh start and more like a chance to settle back into ourselves. Summer can be busy with family travel, camp schedules, and wonderfully messy agendas to fill the short summer season. However, fall often feels quieter and simpler. Routines return, the days begin to change, the colors around us shift, and for some of us, out come the warmer clothes, cozy scarves and a pumpkin latte in hand.

Very often, autumn is not about changing everything. Rather, the season can be about carrying forward the good, holding onto the lessons we learned from the prior year, and leaving behind what felt heavy or no longer serves us. I often think the leaves of tree transitioning from green to orange, yellow, and red or a blend of all. Change is good and often renews our spirit for a fresh start. The goal is to embrace change but to always remain kind to self and others.

As we turn the page to a crisp new season, along with the comfort of pumpkin and apple scented candles and the return of pumpkin everything, focus on spending time with people who make you feel good. Connect with a friend. Make a new friend. Get back into family game nights or take a walk in nature and notice the beautiful autumn colors around you. The key is to recognize the small moments that can make an ordinary day feel special.

A new season does not require a new version of you. Sometimes a change in season is simply a good reminder to come back to yourself. And yes, order that pumpkin latte!
