I am an avid cheerleader of essential oils and using them in my daily life to cultivate increased balance, calm and rest and relaxation. Through my personal journey in the oil sector, I continue to learn about the benefits of essential oils and am thrilled to share a few tips on how you can start implementing aromatherapy into your daily routine.
Each of the tips uses the oils from the Young Living Starter Kit which include: Lavender, Copaiba, Peppermint, Lemon, Frankincense, Thieves, Purification, RC, DiGize, PanAway, and Stress Away.
Whether you are new to the world of aromatherapy or a pro to this fantastic resource, these recommendations are ideal for anyone looking for extra calm and tranquility.
The Spa-Bath. When time permits, start a warm bath and add a few drops of Thieves or Stress Away oil to the water and let the scent take over your mind and body. For additional muscle support, add a cup of Epsom Salt coupled with a bubble scent you love. I tend to pick white rose or mint as it doesn’t over infuse the experience, instead, it complements to the aromatherapy treatment.
Meditation/Mindful Breathing. If you know how to meditate or enjoy deep breathing exercises, add a couple drops of Frankincense or PanAway to your wrists for a heightened experience. As you inhale the aroma through your nose, hold your breath for five seconds, then exhale slowly for three seconds from your mouth. Do this method five times, and magically feel a radical transformation in your body and soul.
Peppermint Brownies. For some, cooking is a therapy of its own, and if this is the case for you, this simple recipe will leave your palette and soul in pure bliss. Of course, don’t eat all the brownies in one sitting, think mindful eating. The brownies are baked with a touch of Peppermint oil, so enjoy them over time with a book, in the bath, or while relaxing on the couch. Peppermint Vitality EO Brownies Recipe.
Purifying the Air: If you have access to a diffuser, one way to magically transform an environment is with aromas such as Lavender and Lemon. When at home, diffuse your preferred scent, dim the lights, and embrace in the quiet-time with meditation and deep breathing, or just relish the aromatic moment with calming music in the background. Your brain and body will thank you for it.
Nourish the Body: Essential oils are a marvelous resource when creating DIY body products. A favorite and easy to prepare staple is the Lemon Sugar Scrub. The uplifting and serene aroma will leave you in a state of tranquility while the scrub soothes the muscles and nourishes the body. A perfect daily treatment.
