Find a comfortable place to sit, and place your hands on your knees with the tips of the thumb and the index finger together, forming a circle. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale out through the mouth with an ‘ahhh’ sound. Do this 3-5 times in a row to a mantra such “I am happy, I am calm, I am grateful.” You can say the mantra out loud or in your head. For an extra splash of zen, have calming meditation/yoga music in the background from YouTube or Spotify, and a drop of your favourite essential oil on your wrists.

Remember, just five to ten minutes of meditation a day can greatly impact your health and wellbeing. There’s no right or wrong way to do the practice, it’s more about the benefits of this simple mindfulness exercise that truly matter.
