Autumn is my favorite time of year. From pumpkin and apple picking to the the spirit of Halloween, it’s a season that magically taps into all your sensations from scent to sight. If you’re lucky enough to live in New England, the fall foliage is picturesque with robust colors of yellow, red and orange gracing the landscape. And if you’re anything like me, the autumn season is a time to skip over to Starbucks for their delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte. A seasonal guilty pleasure that’s worth every sip and cent.
Another way I embrace the season is by bringing the fall fragrances into the abode. To keep the flat smelling autumn crisp, an apple scented candle has been the popular choice until my toddler was roaming the home. Since then, a safer alternative has been my oil diffuser. A few of my favored oils that help establish the aroma of the harvest season are Cinnamon Bark, Nutmeg and Clove. Either infused separately or blended, these oils radiate the start of a new season; a time when many celebrate the Autumn Equinox by focusing on gratitude, giving thanks, and acting with greater kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.
With autumn in the air, let’s take this time to embrace a new chapter and hone in on the season for making new wellness habits while enjoying the crisp essence of the fall. Try a meditation and enjoy stillness during a fall sunset, encapsulate the magic of aromatherapy from diffusing the home or office, and honor the season as a time of abundance and positivity.
