Autumn Reflections

As the autumn season approaches with a crispness in the air, this becomes a great time to reflect on new goals, values and embracing compassion and forgiveness. For some, the Yom Kippur holiday is near, and thus this also becomes a season to reflect on acts of kindness and forgiveness of self and others.

Change (for the better) is a process. It takes steps, it takes a lot of introspection, dedication, recognition and continual connection to the higher-self, the universe, and for some, continued connection to one’s temple, church or place of worship throughout the year.

Join me in making this year the best year by living with greater love, kinder thoughts, kinder words, increased charity, healthier lifestyle habits, leaning towards love, ending judgment and mindless gossip, and living with a pure heart. May our actions reflect our words and promises.

How do we do this? We stay committed to our spiritual practices or religious teachings, practice daily meditation or finding time to let the brain rest and to breathe, exercise (even if it’s a walk around the block), drink more water, less negative talk, more personal connection and lots of daily gratitude and journaling. Smile more, too! A smile can make so much good happen even on our toughest day, and your smile may be the light another needs.
